The surgeon general is raising awareness of alcohol as a preventable cause of at least seven types of cancer. Researchers at MUSC say cutting back could help with lots of health problems.

Losing a section of teeth is profoundly life-altering. And for patients with a cancer history, waiting months between surgeries to repair their jaws and have teeth replaced was the norm.

But now, a multidisciplinary team at Hollings offers a Jaw in a Day procedure. The team performed the first successful case at MUSC, and possibly the state, on someone with head and neck cancer.
